Dividend Yield
generalDividend yield is the annual dividend payment of a stock or fund divided by its current price, expressed as a percentage. A stock priced at $100 that pays $3 in annual dividends has a 3% dividend yield. Yield changes daily as the stock price fluctuates. A higher yield is not always better, as it may indicate a declining stock price or an unsustainable payout.
