A mutual fund pools money from many investors to purchase a diversified portfolio of stocks, bonds, or other securities. Unlike ETFs, mutual funds are priced once daily at their NAV and cannot be traded intraday. They may charge front-end or back-end loads (sales fees) in addition to expense ratios.
